1940 CE - Japan

Around 1940 the US breaks the Japanese Navy's JN-25 communications systems, which leads to a direct victory at the future Battle of Midway. During this time, the US Army group also breaks "Purple", the highest security Japanese diplomatic cipher system in use. This allows for interception of diplomatic transmissions before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
